Eric Stevenson is an experienced leader in nonprofit governance and a recognized voice on matters related to public policy. His work primarily focuses on the shaping of policy and management in K-12 public education; the expansion of youth workforce development; and the elimination of social inequities in under-resourced communities. As a husband, father, and dedicated member of his community, Eric understands how effective social impact can transform communities throughout the U.S. Eric Stevenson currently serves as the Executive Director of The Chad School Foundation, an education policy and advocacy organization located in Newark, New Jersey. In this role, Eric Stevenson leads the Foundation’s mission to improve public education outcomes through supporting effective policy initiatives and by expanding college access for historically disadvantaged students through awarding scholarships and by developing guidance programs that prepare students for educational opportunities that lead to college success.
Eric Stevenson's public interest career in administration, planning, and social policy spans more than a decade with experience serving in local government in Chicago; building school, family, and community engagement programs in Newark, New Jersey; and overseeing workforce development initiatives for mixed-income communities constructed under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s HOPE VI Program both in the Midwest and on the East Coast. Eric Stevenson received his Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University. In addition, he holds a Master of Education in Policy and Management from Harvard University as well as a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law.
