Newark community innovation lab associate

Job Description

The Chad School Foundation is seeking an Undergraduate Research Intern. The undergraduate student will conduct and assist with simulative and experimental research in space,  high-performance, and resilient computing. The Lab Associate student  will work primarily to support the staff to ensure the mission of the  Chad Innovation Labs is achieved. The ideal candidate will be  responsible for conducting peer participatory research within the six  (6) labs. They will take the initiative in completing tasks in a  time-sensitive and high-quality manner for the innovation labs. The  student will also collaborate with a wide range of external and internal  stakeholders to execute and deliver new ideas and solutions to market.  The Lab Associate is part of a small, collaborative and fast-paced team  that makes sure the labs are running effectively. 


Roles of the Lab Associate include but are not limited to:

· Competitive intelligence and market research

· Analysis and reporting on research

· Creating charts and visualizations

· Qualitative and quantitative research

 

Preferred Qualifications

·  Open to all majors 

·  Leadership & Civic Engagement experience

·  Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

 

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Proficient use of various data management and software databases  (e.g. Salesforce, NetSuite, Foundation Maps, etc.), or willingness to  learn.
  • Ability to use web-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Hangout) 
  • Strong organizational skills, with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in small groups on project-based activities .
  • Ability to work independently with little to no direction.

Required Qualifications

Full or part-time enrollment at NJIT, Rutgers University - Newark, Bloomfield College.
